Welcome to the homepage of Dalton Cricket Club.
Founded over 120 years ago, Dalton Cricket Club is still a small, friendly and traditional village cricket club.

|
The Club is in West Lancashire, halfway between Wigan and Ormskirk, and is situated on the top of a hill near Ashurst's Beacon.
From our modern pavilion (next to the Prince William Inn) the ground has superb views of the rural surroundings and distant hills.

A lovely spot to enjoy watching and playing cricket, a frequent comment being, "Never been here before - what a lovely, picturesque ground".
Although a small club, we field
-
3 Saturday teams (in the Southport & District ACL)
-
a Sunday XI (friendlies)
-
Junior team(s) (also in the Southport & District ACL)
as well as organising winter indoor nets (usually Jan-Apr), a summer tour (for the last 30 years)and an Awards evening (in autumn).
We have 6 classes of membership:
-

-

However being small doesn't mean a lack of success. In 2000 our 2nd XI and 3rd XIs were
champions of their respective leagues, and in 2001 our 1st XI were runners up in their
League, the 2nd XI completed the League and Cup 'double'and our 3rd XI won their Cup competition.
2002 saw our 2nd's finish fourth in the Premier Reserve Division, with the 3rd XI being runners up in their League and Cup competitions. And in 2003 the 1st XI finished fourth in the First Division.
Neither has it gone to our heads! We are still a friendly, family cricket club playing the game in a traditional way.
So if you're in the area during the season -
- pop 'up' to the Club during the season (plenty of parking space)
-(Tuesday evening is 'selection + netting' night )
- pop into our nearby H/Q - "The Beacon Inn"
- or ring our contacts for a chat.
- - and don't forget to look at the Owzat page for the latest news and info.
